I follow a decent amount of blogs. I don't know most of the authors of the blogs that I read. But, God has used so many of these 'strangers' to speak truth and conviction into my life. Most of these people will never know how their vulnerability has personally affected me. Such is the case with Anne Jackson.

Right now she is in Moldova. When I read that she was going there my heart was incredibly joyful. I am always so encouraged to see God bring others to a country that so many have no clue of its existence. Please read her account of the horrific tragedy that is enslaving young Moldovan girls. After serving for 6 years in Chisinau, and especially with my upcoming extended term, this hits home to me. After reading her experiences in just a few short days, my focus has been narrowed for the ministry I will seek to do during the year that I am there. The girls and I will not just learn how and why to be missionaries, but we will seek ways to minister to girls who are being sold as sex slaves. A scary reality, yet one that needs to be exposed and destroyed.

A quick update about fund raising: I found out yesterday that my complete budget is half way raised!!!! There is absolutely nothing about this that doesn't scream God's providence! I was so blown away when I received the figures. Wow! Thank YOU to those of you who are praying and giving. You are such an important part of this process. Many people in Moldova will be exposed and empowered with the Gospel because of your obedience! To Him be the glory!

Now, go read Anne's blog!

Jesus, Grandma, and Jack Bauer!

Envy. Jealousy. Pride. Cheat. Bitterness. Rage. Lust. A broad look at what was taken from us and replaced by the holy, perfect righteousness of Jesus Christ. All accomplished through a cross. Like Moses, I am not eloquent with words and certainly don't have the ability to blow your mind with my vocabulary but I am captivated and compelled by the beauty of Christ's sacrifice. Captivated by the love and glory shown in the midst of intense suffering knowing that the cause was greater than the pain. Compelled to love as Christ and glorify His name to the world. What a great reminder yesterday that Jesus is all, or 'I AM.'

I spent the afternoon with my family yesterday in Lexington. I loved every second spent with my sweet grandma (as well as the rest of my family, too!). She is 92 and has got it going on! I was driving her back to her home and the following conversation took place:

Me: Oh look! Chipolte! I've never been there but I have heard it is really good.
Grandma: I don't know what that is.
Me: It's kind of like a Moes. Hey! I want to take you to Moes one day soon!
Grandma: What is a Moes?
Me: You know, the restaurant where you get burritos and stuff. So good!
Grandma: Oh no! I don't want no flaritto!!
Me: Grandma, what the heck is a flaritto!?
Grandma: I don't know.

It's Masters week here in Augusta. I will be sure to stay on my side of the river! Students are out for spring break and it's supposed to be very nice weather this week I think. Alas, the curse of adulthood strikes again! I will be inside working all week. Boo. We were off this past Friday and I had this lengthy to-do list of things I needed to get done. In the midst of accomplishing I felt like I needed a break. Since I don't have cable and I'm pretty much caught up with the 2 or 3 shows I enjoy watching online, I decided to head on over to tv shack and started watching season 2 of 24. I have the 1st season on my computer and could not watch the entire thing. I got way too stressed and anxious over it so about half way through the season I cheated and watched the last episode! :) I'm not really sure what enticed me to begin season 2 but dangit if the entire rest of my day (with the exception of a few hours) was not spent watching 24! I promised myself I would not cheat this time and would actually watch the whole season. I am half way through it now and my tendency is just to skip and go to the end! This show makes my heart beat really fast. It's like I get an effective cardio workout just by watching.

Jack Bauer and John Locke. The only reason to watch tv!
